The Muslim population of Lower Mainland area has also grown tremendously over the past 15 years. More recently, with the boom of IT downtown Vancouver has seen the daily commuters numbers soar. As a result, the religious, social and civic needs of Muslims have expanded significantly.
Despite the establishment of several mosques and other Islamic institutions the community as a whole, particularly women, youth and the Muslims residing Vancouver, remains under-served. The existing mosques are limited primarily to hosting regular prayers and are unable to offer the space and facilities to meet the needs of the entire family.
The goal of the Ajyal Islamic Center is to fill this gap by establishing a religious center to meet the spiritual, social and civic needs of all Muslims.
